Sport?

Referring back to a recent thread, it isn’t sport or football anymore. When we got promoted before‘football began’ in the 80s we were competitive and regularly beat the top teams, even as a newly promoted team.
Now, it’s rare and possibly due to exceptional circumstances ie injury crisis, (probably get called off anyway?) or resting players for the money grabbers European competition.
Football is now who has got the most money and a little bit of common sense or luck.
What’s the point NCFC getting promoted other than to get one bumper (for us) payday and a season of misery and a couple of years of parachute payments, which there a moves to remove?
