Are we panicking about the team for next season
As things stand it could be that not very many players actually leave. We could put out the following team right now which would surely be good enough in the Championship:
Green
Helveg, Doherty, Shackell, Drury
Johnson, Francis, Safri, Huckerby
Mackenzie, Ashton
Of that side only Green, Helveg and Francis are likely to leave. We have replacements for Greeno already. We are being linked with players who could replace Francis and if Helveg leaves his wages would free up a fair amount of money to find a new right back.
Both Johnson and Doherty could fill in for Ashton if injured. Charlton could do a job at centre or left back.
We have England, Ireland, Denmark and Sweden full internationals in the side, the best young striker in England, Hucks who at Champ level is lethal and Shackell at the back who is immensely promising. Although i have also been getting frustrated at the lack of transfers things are not as grim as some of us make out.
