So many letters from the Greek alphabet used in physics.

I most associate omicron with astronomy, though; designations of the brightest stars in constellations have a greek letter followed by the constellation e.g. Arcturus is the brightest star in the constellation Bootes, so it has the designation alpha Bootis (genitive of Bootes).

Omicron Andomedae is pretty close to M31, the Andromeda galaxy.
