What about if week after week you came out in the national media

and said your students would need a miracle to pass their GCSEs, that they were at the worst school in the city with the lowest historic performance stats, that they weren't as good as students at other schools and couldn't expect to get good grades.

I don't think they'd feel good about themselves, or especially motivated.
