The current NCFC crest was registered as a trademark in February 1972 and was being used by Eastern Counties Newspapers (on Pink 'Uns) in April 1972.

Rothmans used the 'Esso' crest in the 72-3 edition, published in June 1972.

So Rothmans used the Esso crest even after the current one was created
