Wages are indeed absolutely critical. And a very big part of why we can't compete

But I'm sorry. "We would have cantered through that game"? What in the world is that based on? We can't defend for toffee!

We don't score goals because our strikers aren't good enough and we have no attacking teamplay or pattern. We have one goal from open play all season long, and are every bit as out of our depth as any side has been in Premier League history. We've not picked up a single point in the last THIRTY-THREE PL games in which we've gone behind. Not one. And we've not led one single time at any stage in any league game all season!

Beyond that, I don't disagree. I don't want Hodgson or Bruce or anyone really. But I'm all out of hope. Hope requires some logical reason to believe - and there is none. Because we cannot compete.

And as no club ever punches way beyond its financial weight forever, it's only a matter of time before we won't bounce back - not least because more and more players and fans will wonder what the point of us even trying to bounce back is.
