I'm no BoJo but I did spend 20 years working on the transition to zero carbon. F**k the 5-1 bollocks. The UK is one of the world's leading nations when it comes to transition to zero carbon. UK reliant on wind power, France nuclear, Germany lignite (the most polluting form of coal). China, India, USA? Coal. What's the point?

Kids want to go on a protest about c02 emmisions. How many want to do a degree in electrical engineering? None of them. It's like your computer comes up with some gobbledygook when you start it up. How do you fix the problem? Shout at it? Demand it functions as a human right? You need a nerd to fix it. The nerd needs resources - a Windows DVD (do they still exist?) and time. Can you fix the problem with no nerd (nobody doing engineering) no resources (china owns all neodymium, galium, etc) and no time (Greta wants this sorted today)?

This nerd moved from zero carbon into biotech. My life is now viruses not carbon. Zero carbon a waste of time for UK research.
