OK, so a very important thing to remember here...

An offender doesn't get to decide who can take offence, or what is offensive. For decades we've had the 'political correctness gone mad' brigade saying 'it was banter', 'it was unintentional', 'it was misconstrued'. This does nothing to reduce the offensiveness perceived by others.

The year is now 2021. People need to listen to each other and adapt. That's society. When someone finds something offensive, you apologise and rectify. You don't rub salt in their wounds by saying they are 'snowflakes' or 'too sensitive' or whatever.
