I totally agree - however

If things were not going as well as they currently are, the usual 'Delia doing it on the cheap' brigade would come out. A youth system is also significant investment that may not yeald for many years.

We are also at an advantage to many Prem teams in that our clubs expectations are lower than others. Staying in the top division and developing and playing youth players is not going to happen for most clubs.

I guess for many clubs it is do we invest x amount in a youth system that will not provide instant results, or sign a proven player who can have an impact now
