I have a very tame couple of blackbirds

nesting close to where I sit in my garden and have twice (with their help) chased off magpies trying to raid their nest. The male blackbird comes and sits under my chair when I'm having a quiet moment so I feel like their minder. The magpies also try to raid the pigeons nest in another bush so personally I regard them as pests and treat them accordingly.
