Who foots the parachute payments bill though?
Do EPL clubs get less when there are extra parachute payments to pay? Or does the EPL take the hit?
If the EPL clubs are funding it directly, as in their cash varies year on year depending on parachute payment obligations, then it's a different argument. But if this is just a windfall, it doesn't feel right that the cash goes to the clubs.
