Parachute Payments
Just read an article that says the Norwich and Watford parachute payments for next year get disbursed back into the Prem. Pot stands at £83m, I'm guessing that becomes £121.5m if Bournemouth go up too.
It doesn't specify but I guess we benefit from an even division of said money, so currently a top up of £4m to standard Prem income.
Seems a bad system. The recouped parachute money should be distributed to the 69 clubs that aren't in the Prem. Or due in receipt of para payments...
That would be £600,000 per club for every team that bounced back first time so potentially £1.8m per club if all three go back up.
Put me up against the wall and shoot me for being a socialist?
