The club was in a worse position than when he started in every way except for crowd size and the Jarrold Stand.

McNally's era saw the club secure back-to-back promotions, retain its place in the premier league comfortably and be debt free within 4 years.

Even after relegation we were promoted again. Adams was a strange appointment but the board moved quickly to correct their error. A mistake the Doncaster era management team made in keeping Worthington on way too long, then making bad appointment after bad appointment. I mean Roeder ffs? Gunn? Dear oh dear.

Yes, the club made some bad decisions towards the end of McNally's reign. However, objectively, it was still a very successful era for the club and provided the foundation for all that has followed since.
