What fans love

is a mixture of ability and effort. Hence the reason why Huckerby is such a hero, as were Bellamy and Sutton, Crook and Eadie, Bowen and ... well, you get my point.

We've seen plenty of players with more ability than skill and usually they are appreciated rather than idolised (except by XXL ... obviously).

However, nothing is more frustrating than a player who obviously has talent (particularly if you've seen them display it) but doesn't seem to be playing for the team - an accusation that was made of Bentley a lot earlier in the season. Some of Damo's performances since January have frankly been lazy, nearly as much as Mulryne IMO. I like Francis as a player but he looks like his mind is elsewhere.

And not being too sorry if someone leaves isn't necessarily the same as wanting someone to leave ...
