Working for government science and technology lab, I have some thoughts...

1. We've been directly involved with CV19, not the vaccine, but principles are same
2. Massive realignment of resources
3. Responsiveness has been a priority.
4. Scientific principles and ethics never compromised.
5. Funding directed to where needed, other activities de-prioritised
6. I have 100% trust in the science and the expertise working on the challenges
7. Record keeping burden is unprecedented with respect to evidence of decision making

I have no reason to believe that other scientists and scientific communities supporting government would be different, and even though there is a massive financial profit to be made, the uk regulator is objective and non-political.
