This takes out the "those who work hard and became wealthy want to keep that wealth and enjoy it in their retirement years hence want to retain as much of it as possible thereby tend to vote for more conservative values rather than having it stolen from them to fund other peoples lifestyles"

Instead it looks more at psychology traits. There is plenty of material out there on it, just this article is short and sweet
