Positives and negatives from the season so far

Positives

We are 5th in the league, unbeaten in 4 and well in contention despite not really fully clicking yet.

Gibson and Quintilla both look pretty decent.

Emi, Todd and Aarons are still there and look engaged again.

We are outplaying most teams we play in terms of the balance of play, possession efforts on goal etc. It feels like we are close to inflicting a few hidings.

Rupp has improved, Skipp looks tidy and we have plenty of (particularly midfield) depth on the bench.

Negatives

Defensive lapses/errors still costing us goals, indeed we inflict most of our own problems.

We look blunt in attack. Pukki still at about 80%, Hugill looks less of a goal threat (and less of a handful) than I expected (so far) and Todd and Emi seem to have forgotten how to score. Final ball still poor. In short we are the opposite of clinical.

Finding a way to lse to that utterly sh*t Derby side in a game we completely dominated.

Squad not balanced. Already having to play a midfielder at left back because we have one injury and have loaned our reserve left back out to a club in the same division.
