My thoughts on Farke are

Do I want him sacked - no.

Do I think any other manager could have done better with the current squad - yes.

Do I think any other manager could have kept us up with the current squad - maybe but unlikely.

Do I think Farke is the best man (or at least a good option) to try and get us back up - yes if this last few weeks haven't damaged him and his relationship with the squad long term.

So therein lies the quandry. I've no desire for yet another managerial change or to start rebuilding. If we can invest any sale proceeds wisely I think the current squad, supplemented by a couple of wise additions should be more than capable of challenging for promotion in the championship. Farke deserves a crack at that. He was also given an "almost" impossible job this season plus we've been very unlucky with injuries.

BUT I won't pretend my faith in his this season has not been severely knocked to the extent that I am having real doubts. I've consoled myself with the thought for most of the season that he's an intelligent bloke and that he will learn but the weaknesses in our game that are not just down to the quality of the squad he has at his disposal simply have not been improved and since the re-start he has frankly managed us appallingly, especially in the home league games. This is where I do think that a lot of other managers might well have done better. Managers that can organise a defence, who drill the team relentlessly for attacking and defensive set pieces, can have them coming out of the dressing room fired up after half time and who can see when the momentum in the game has turned and make a sub before we ship one or two goals and are chasing the game. I am really, really disappointed that rather than coming back from the lockdown having assessed our weaknesses and put plans in place to rectify them he seems to have slightly lost the plot and we have got markedly worse. I don't really understand what has happened if I'm honest but it does start to sow the seeds of thought that perhaps last year we just got a bit lucky with the way everything clicked and came together.

But for now I say we give him the benefit of the doubt and the chance to tweak the squad and rebuild for next season. If Webber has anything about him he should, I hope, also have realised that we need a few more leaders in that team and in that dressing room which may, perhaps, also help with some of Farke's weaker spots referred to above. Zimbo and Hanley back will probably help but I feel we need a Holty type character in there as well as I sense Hanley is naturally quite quiet.
