My Norfolk relatives are all Norwichers, so that makes sense.

I guess it is a bit like around here.

Newportees sound a bit scouse, in Cardiff here, ear, year and there are all very close with heavy emphasis on the first 'e'. You have to go past Swansea to get the nice singsongy archetypal south Wales accent.
