This 'plan 'mentality would have worked years ago.
I recall Norwich being relegated after winning the Milk Cup back in 1985. The club kept hold of key players,back then the financial gap between the leagues was far less so it was possible to maintain continuity. Now relegation means players accepting massive pay cuts and so relegation results in a reboot for the club. It's almost like going back to square one. No way will the club be able to hold onto its saleable players. We just have to hope that the squad starting in the Championship is good enough to compete.
