I can't even see how it's a clanger?

This is why I can't stand politics. Point scoring on all sides over nothing, avoiding the true issues.

This particular bunch of Conservatives seem pretty awful, but what has Boris done wrong here? He looked at the photo, he said he's sorry and he put the phone in his pocket as he was obviously distracted whilst trying to answer the questions and probably wasn't giving much thought to who the phone belonged to. So what?

The alternative is he decided to avoid the issue by hiding the phone, which is quite frankly ridiculous, given it was being filmed.
