I will bang on about rugby, but football needs to copy the model where you hear what the ref is asking the video ref, you hear what the video ref is saying, and ideally you see the same screens that they are looking at.
SA game was perfect example - "I'm going to show you the two passes. Here's the first pass. Anything clear and obvious? Nothing clear and obvious. Here's the second pass. Nothing clear and obvious".
(i'm paraphrasing but it went something like that)
Two way conversation and on-field referee fully involved in final decision.
30 seconds and done. As someone posted yesterday, if you're taking 2-3 minutes to make a decision then how can you be picking up a "clear and obvious" mistake?
VAR is a great idea being poorly implemented, and it wouldnt take much to improve it.
