our regiment used to be next door to a well known scottish regiment and each one took it in turn to host bonny night. great big old bonfire made from pallets and what-knot and all the families would bowl up for bears and heißhunde and then the fire would get lit fand then the firework show would kick off except this one year the lads lit the bonfire and as it welled up it became apparent that for some inexplicable reason guy fawkes was all dressed up in a kilt and a tam-o-shanter. luckily they saw the funny side of it. they didn't see the funny side of it.
