He was. Back in the day, by which I mean in the late 60s / early 70s,
he reckoned the toffee of the then Rolo was hard enough that a Rolo positioned badly on the conveyor would be tough enough to whack the machines out of kilter, not like the (and here you have to imagine a disdainful scowl and tone of voice) soft arse Rolos they make these days.
They were well before my time, but I wish I'd been able to try the hard-toffee Rolo.
