lovely folks in there always a nice welcome. bloke in front of me plaices his order and then says to the guy behind the counter "how's your dad? has he had his op yet?"
"yes he has thank you for asking, he's fine now"
"have you been busy since you opened last weekend?"
"oh no, we didn't open last weekend as dad was bleeding out of his back passage and i had to take him to A & E in the middle of the night"
*ME*: 😳
"oh that's a shame he's alright now is he?"
"Oh yeah he's fine now, he's in the back frying"
shouts over his shoulder "you're alright now dad aren't you?"
*inner bugle call sounds the retreat*
