Well. I don’t have the statistics but I’d estimate that the prevelance of transgenders among women would be lower than one percent. Add to that the talent and work ethic required of a top class athlete and you’ve got a tiny pool of transgender women who are competing in top class athletics and sports. So it’s not surprising that they aren’t winning gold medals left right and centre is it?

Is definitely a tough question though. I would think that among two female athletes with the same talent and work ethic, the transgender might have some advantage if strength is important in the particular sport. I think that’s what Navratilova is suggesting.

Probably using the word “cheating” wasn’t the best choice though.
