I think the problem is when you see being in the Premier League as

the 'end' that we are looking to achieve. And the promotion season, as just being the 'means' to achieve it. That way the satisfaction of promotion is always tempered by what awaits us in the PL.

Nowdays, given our glass ceiling in the PL, its probably better to think of it the other way round. The promotion race is the 'end'. That is the pinnacle of supporting Norwich - the most fun, the most excitement, us competing against our peers and coming out on top.

The subsequent seasons in the Prem are actually the 'means' so that we have enough resources that we can enjoy another promotion push sometime in the future.
