I agree it'd be a shame to lose Max

I was appalled by the mooted (by the press) sale of Godfrey in August before he'd really played any games for us.

I'd not be happy with selling Max to a rubbish prem side either.

But if bids (with a loan back) come in from the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham - who are top top sides, then I think it enhances our standing as a great stage for young players to enhance their careers.

If he helps us into the prem, then I'd hope it'd allow us to retain more of the other names you mentioned too.

In an ideal world I'd wholeheartedly agree with you. I'd love to see max ply his trade for years with us in the tip division. Unfortunately, football finances are horrific and so my pragmatic side looks at it and says that if we can plough that money back into the system we've got (which seems to be working), then I can live with it.

Who knows, we might see some new hero's on the back of it...

(I was sad to lose maddison, the Murphys and redmond, but have enjoyed seeing their replacements blossom, its a funny old game...)
