I didn't expect this at all

Started the season with an open mind but expected similar to last season, give or take, especially as we had sold the player that had excelled for us last year. After 6 games, my view had, if anything, worsened. So, I am delighted and very pleasantly surprised by our run and certainly enjoying it while it lasts.

I have seen that, statistically, we are likely to succeed this season and all those statistics will include teams that tried to push on in January, so that still bodes well for us.

Aside from the obvious Leeds, Forest appear a threat to me - if they had turned a few of those draws into wins, they would be right up there with us. Others around us remain a threat, no doubt, but they all have to play each other and, in the long run, having so many teams up there doing well means the potential for lots of them to take points off each other.

If we carry on getting 2 points a game, we go up, simple as. Can we do that? Yes. Will we? Well, I think it is a big ask but we can afford to drop short of that and possibly still get second, so we have created a very good platform and three points on Saturday would further strengthen that. Right now, that is the most important game.

We will get 3m Euros for Oliveira in January. I would hope we can hang onto the matchday squad players and those around it - I really don't see the need to cash in on anyone in January - we held tight on Maddison and can do the same for Max, Jamal, Todd, etc. Unless they get injured out of the game, they will probably be only worth more next summer (Madders got injured and was still worth more).
