And have some hardline traditionalists in their membership who oppose helmets full stop. They have put a semi-clever argument to appease that element of their membership but having seen a friend saved from a very severe situation by his helmet, can only conclude that it is bonkers. In truth, this tells you more about politics within any groups than any serious consideration of safety, imho.
