our eldest two are just starting to 'get' poppies

they've been busy making them at our village school and there's a nice old display of them all in Wells Cathedral.

We went to take a look at the weekend and my lad (who never normally says boo to a goose) took himself up to a uniformed poppy seller to hand over his prized penny and I have never seen him look more chuffed than when the old boy pinned it to his coat.
