Reason Obama bought in the affordable care act was to reduce the deficit Medicare was causing, including coverage for millions more Americans and increasing quality of care.

Reasons republicans want to abolish is because its now far to expensive and allows people no matter how healthy or sick to purchase health insurance in turn increasing the premiums for everybody else.
