I know, I started typing a lot more in reply to earlydoors and then gave up.

I love stuff – books, films - from the 1930s and 40s but when you re-read them/watch them, so much stuff jumps out at you that's inappropriate today. Buts it's easy to deal with.

I worry more about the way teenage girls are portrayed though as that seems more pernicious - you just accept it without noticing somehow and it all seems fine and becomes a norm.

It's complicated though as we have other influences too and hopefully effective filters so that you are able to make choices.
