On a brand new carpet. I blamed the kids, naturally. Stain is still there 5 years later.

Peak Ideot aspect of it is that I'd just renewed our house insurance cover and specifically took out accidental damage cover knowing we were doing a load of DIY so this sort of thing might happen. But I decided claiming for the paint damage would bump up future premiums such that it wasn't worth a claim.

So why did I bother taking out accidental cover, eh? And why haven't I stopped it? Ideot.
