This story about the BBC forecasts is spot on

It’s also in the times but no point posting that link due to firewall.
I’ve really noticed this recently and said it to my wife ahead of the recent test match. The BBC and Met Office forecasts used to be the same and very reliable but recently have diverged and the BBC basically shows cloud, sun and rain on a lot of days even though if you read the detail the percentage chance of rain is very low. When I was st the test the BBC was showing rain showers pretty much all day and we got no rain at all.
Interesting to see this and that the inaccurate forecast can have quite big consequences for certain industries/sectors. That agency they now have doing it are taking the p**s as they basically hedge their bets most days.
