My advice is to go for natural food and that's through a fair
bit of experience. I've done many 100 mile plus events and an Ironman and it took me a couple of years to realise that a lot of the problems I encountered were due to gels and bars. In fact the commonest most reason for people failing to complete Ironman is through gastro issues. I swicthed to natural foods and my own 'energy drink' and I'd never go back to the commercially produced products. Good luck to you in whatever you're aiming for.
