The amount of money coming in has completely f**ked the upper tier(s) over. The sums floating and being passed around what is, at the end of the day, a game are impossible to defend in the wider social context. In the Prem, if you're not top-few it's a slow, grim circling of the drain until it's your turn to go down again. It's genuinely more fun supporting a team trying to get into the Prem (which has a chance of doing do) than supporting a team which has managed it. At some point Sky et all will simply stop paying the stupid sums they pay at the moment. It won't be pretty when that happens - at least we are in a reasonable financial state these days but a lot of clubs will really suffer.
