We went through the same thing last year with our Primary.

Similar to you, we had a consultation, even thought it very much seemed, indeed was, a done deal. All but done, anyway.

You could ask whether there is unanimity among the SLT and governors about joining the MAT. I suppose they wouldn't say so if there wasn't, but they would if there was - so if they decline to answer, you can read between those lines. At out school the PTA lady who's on the governors board told us there was unanimity across SLT etc, without anyone asking.

You could ask what the MAT's attitude to curriculum is - do they divert from the national curriculum. Ours don't.

Will the uniforms change? Ours didn't. Each school that has joined the MAT (four in total) has retained its original uniform.

You could ask what plans, if any, there are for sharing your school's resources with other schools in the MAT. Our MAT were very open that one of the reasons that they were so keen to have our school join is that it has a massive field, which is something that their other schools didn't, and they plan to have cross-school events that make use of the space we've got.
