Depends on the trust involved. Some disasters paying ££££ to CEOs instead of funding

The school. Others well run and getting good grades. A lot underfund the teaching side and spend big on directors of the academies

My wife was 9 years at one good school. It became an academy. Went rapidly downhill and caused redundancies. Staff morale through the floor. She ended up overworked to a point she was verging on depression due to mix of underfunding of her dept, bullying staff, marking until 1am, paperwork, difficult kids and unsupportive senior management within the trust.

She has now left and teaches elsewhere and is very happy again.

Sounds like your potential academy might not be the financial juggernaught that took over my wife’s school so could be ok.
