"Late" investors come flying in after reading it in the paper for a couple of days and finally get their accounts set up. They buy high, then some exchanges refuse to support the coins and it crashes dramatically, leaving CashBet loaded, Arsenal loaded and the punters financially ruined (if they were stupid enough to make large investments of course),
