Not all attacking midfielders are number 10s. Remember that

if we play 3-4-3 or 4-2-3-1 (which I am sure we won't entirely abandon) then we have two to three spots for attacking midfielders.

Anyway, Vrancic is not a #10, and neither is Watkins. Murphy isn't either although he could be.

Three attacking midfield sports between Hoolahan, Maddison (who might be sold), Murphy and Edwards (who is on loan).

Behind them we only have Cantwell (who might be turn out great but it is very early days to be relying on him), Stiepermann who doesn't look particularly comfortable there so far, and Watkins who is basically s**t.

Yes, Naismith and Wildschut might conceivably come back but one more talent wouldn't hurt.

And after all that McLean isn't a number 10 anyway.
