That's not what constructive dismissal is
unless I've misunderstood the term. I thought it was when an employer changes the working conditions, or creates a hostile environment, with the aim of forcing or pushing the employee towards resigning.
Although not exactly the same, and nothing that would stand up in court, freezing Naismith out in the hope he might cancel his contract has certain similarities imo. And is at best pretty immoral.
