That's also something that the NFL has started to do. One GREAT thing they've added is

that there are medical staff reviewing every single play looking for signs of head injuries and have the power to stop the game and pull a player out to check for concussion etc, but it's still all a bit technology over implementation at the moment. A few weeks ago Houston Texans QB Tom Savage appeared to have a short seizure after being hit but was still allowed back into the game for a while before the medical staff insisted on benching him. The images of him shaking on the ground were quite disturbing.
