I thought his work rate this game was far higher than when he played for us. If he had

made the same effort back then, I think he would have been quite successful. In fact I think it might have made a massive difference to our recent history even. It was always quite clear that there was more ability in him than he sometimes made use of.

Strange thing is the Leeds fans had the same opinion, and he looked the same playing for them. For some reason only Millwall seem to have got the best out of him, in two separate stints. While he was never going to be a top Premier League player, I think he had more in him than his career has reflected.
