I'd answer it this way

Firstly, it may be bad - but the alternative may be worse. Yes it's a capitalist club - but outside the EU the UK will be capitalism to the max - a low wage low regulation hell hole.
Secondly, the decision to leave wasn't thought through. proper preparations haven't been made.
