I find the last part of the article most interesting but I also think

educational level and earnings should also be accounted for.

With respect to the first graph, doesn't it show that the Philippines and Russia have a bigger problem with mass shootings per number of guns than the US? It does show fantastically the scale of gun ownership in the US compared to other countries though.
