Drive, it is so easy . . .

recently drove north up west coast thru California and Oregon, routes 1 and 101. Finished at Portland.
Roads are very quiet.
Hired a Ford Mustang, 2 seat convertible. Great fun.
Took 3 weeks. Beautiful countryside, beaches, redwoods. Met so many people on the way. Very polite. People so keen to talk to us Brits.
Motels are good value, big rooms with big beds, often with free breakfast, although we enjoyed finding diners for breakfast.
Slight problem with the pound being weak so it was a little more expensive than would originally planned.
