I don't rate Martin as a defender, and never have. He seems to lack a bit of bravery, in terms of risk taking. He seems so fixed on avoiding being embarrassed by a more skilful player that he avoids just the issue. And I've reached the conclusion that that spreads panic in the defence generally. However, he's had some great games for us, and he's undeniably made the most of his ability professionally and I admire him for that.
