I wouldn't say it's one of the best books I've ever read, although it is amazing, but it is certainly one of the most memorable books I've ever read. Not memorable through extremes of grossness, horror or ick, or anything like that, memorable through originality and just otherworldly bizarreness.

I say "new", it's been out a few years.
