Because...

The range currently is 100 miles - although the next model will be 200. The car currently is not designed for longer distance travel but I very rarely do a journey of more than 100 miles in one go so the car works for me. If you are someone that regularly does longer journeys then I wouldn't recommend it. In 3 years I have not broken down or run out of electric once but you do need to plan ahead on a longer journey.
